Lasting Bonds Invention Rules & Guidelines

Quote :
LB Rules: Each race will have their designated race scientist, which will receive this perk for free. However, for all those whom would like the ability and freedom that would allow them to invent or create things, they must purchase said perk for 150 Exp.

The guide below governs the rules and regulations of the site's inventors and scientists. However, it is the staff's prerogative to change and alter these rules where necessary. We ask that our members get as creative as possible, while playing according to the rules of the site. We the staff hold the right to deny an application, ask for a revamp or edit to prevent any kind of Power playing or God modding.

The Rules & Guidelines

Each invention will be based on Rank, and whether or not they are a finished product(FP) or an experimental prototype (EP). The cost and difficulty of using these inventions will also reflect this. The ranks for inventions will go in accordance to numbers. Ranging from 1-2, with 1 being the Finished Product (FP) and 2 being the Experimental Prototype.

Invention Types

A) Personal Use- (PU) These mainly includes items and other things, that were invented for 1 or more people to use. These inventions are built for the sole purpose of aiding the person using it, in whatever way its meant to be used.

B) Distribution Use: (DU) These mainly include items that were created to be distributed among your peers. However for each item, it will cost extra to create more.

C) Area Of Effect: (AOE) These mainly include items among other things, that has been created to have an effect on a area, which may vary in size.

Ranks, Types and Costs:

Personal Use: (PU) Invention with a rank of 2, will cost 50-EXP for Experimental Prototype (EP). 70-EXP for a Finished Product, rank 1. To complete a Experimental Prototype, one must pay an extra 20-EXP, which makes it a total of 70-EXP= (FP)

Distribution Use: (DU) Inventions with a rank of 2, will cost 60 EXP for Experimental Prototypes (EP). 80-EXP for a Finished Product, rank 1. To complete a Experimental prototype of the (DU) type, then its an extra 20 EXP, which makes it a total of 80 EXP. For added distribution, one must pay an extra 25 EXP. This means if you want to create more of these things at any given times. Then its an extra 25 EXP for each one.

Area of Effect: (AOE) inventions with a rank of 2, will cost 80 EXP for Experimental Prototypes (EP). 100 EXP for a Finished Product (FP), rank 1. To complete a Experimental prototype of the (AOE) type, its an extra 20 EXP. Which makes it a total of 100- EXP.

Sub Types Explanation

Experimental Prototypes: (EP) These are inventions that can be improved upon in the future. They are not yet complete, but can still be of use, depending on the situation they were invented for. The cost for these will vary according to rank.

Finished Product: These products are thought to be completed and cannot be modified anymore.

Sub types such as the (EP) may be completed and used by others willing to take up such responsibility. Technology maybe shared in order to accomplish things easier.

There is also a ranking system determined by how powerful an invention is. This is all based on how difficult such an invention would be to make, and how difficult would it be to properly use. Each extra rank adds 10 EXP to the price one has to pay for the invention. C being the standard rank we're starting off with. The power rankings are as follows.:

C Rank: The most basic of inventions. Ones that are considered practical and simple in their use, while also having certain helpful elements. These inventions usually have one specialized use and no greater powers beyond that. Things such as simple artificial limbs or surveillance drones fall under this category. These inventions follow under the prices already set. Simple designer weapons with no extra powers would also fall under this category.

B Rank: These inventions are more complicated and also hold more power than those of the C rank. Basically, they are already very helpful when put to use. They are also fairly simple to use and easy to master, usually bringing very little risk with their usage. B Rank inventions can also be quite effective in battle situations. Many inventions that have clear helpful effects are ranked here.

A Rank: The inventions of the highest caliber. Making these things requires a lot of effort and planning, also bringing many rewards when the work is finally completed. These inventions are very versatile and incredibly useful when put to use. Inventions of this rank can also hold great power depending on their intended purpose. The most powerful of A ranked weapons may also be dangerous when used improperly, so it is best to exercise proper care when using them. Tools designed for the battlefield are often of this rank, if they are of a superior grade.

S Rank: Only true scientific breakthroughs are considered to be of this rank. S Rank inventions are usually characterized by unnatural quality, enhanced durability and greater powers than what inventions of inferior grade can offer. While they may prove to be incredibly useful and helpful in a wide range of defensive and offensive purposes, one should always take note to use the invention like it's supposed to in order to avoid dangerous situations. Barriers designed to protect an entire base of operations, alternative ways of moving between realms quickly and offensive tools designed to stand at the pinnacle of warfare usually stand here amongst other equally great inventions. Only the Scientific Leaders of each race are capable of creating such things. Do note, that PU type inventions of this rank usually come with drawbacks, as a price for the power they can shortly lend to their users.
